Krasnodar Region is one of the most attractive targets for investments. With the population of more than five million people, Krasnodar Region ensures stability in the Northern Caucasia and provides for the country’s influence in Transcaucasia area, in the Middle East and Mediterranean basin. It is a near territory and the only Russia’s access to the Black sea and further to major international sea routes. More than that, Krasnodar area is a highly developed region, which production forces are based on industrial, construction and fuel and energy complexes, information and communication technologies, as well as agroindustrial, transport, resort and recreation and tourist sectors. Advantages of this region include significant support of investments by the government of Krasnodar Region and, certainly, the overall development of the region and the infrastructure for the upcoming Olympic Games 2014.

The Olympics 2014 in Sochi is the signal for development of the region, which has been long awaited in Krasnodar Region. The honourable title of all-Russian mountain climate resort and the capital of the international Olympic Games place heavy demands on many aspects of the city and the region development, first of all, infrastructure development.

Preparation for the Olympics in Sochi comprises an extremely wide range of measures aimed at provision of high level of services to guests of this important event. During the time of intensive construction in the region, it requires active use of state budgets for the development of the regional infrastructure.

Fulfillment of the federal programme (construction of Olympic facilities) and regional programme (preparation for residential and industrial complexes of Sochi to the upcoming Olympics 2014) is one of the key tasks at the moment. International exhibition IDES-2010 (Infrastructure Development Expo South) will provide assistance in attracting additional investments into the development of the infrastructure in the south of Russia, increase of construction volumes and growing prosperity of the region.

In 2010, IDES will expand: for the first time the exhibition will feature ICT Forum — international forum of infocommunications. It is impossible to image modern business centre, residential or hotel complexes to be built for the Olympic Games without high-quality telecommunication systems. And certainly telecommunication systems significantly increase the value of any development or investment project.

Also for the first time the exhibition will feature exhibition of gas equipment - GAS RUSSIA. The increasing length of gas nets transmitting South Federal Region determined the currency of the exhibition.

Thus, IDES-2010 will combine 6 international exhibitions to be run at one exhibition venue:

20 — 22 October 2010, Krasnodar, Krasnodar Expo exhibition centre.

IDES-2010 will become a ground for specialised conferences and round tables attended by specialists of various fields of industry and economy to have a constructive dialogue in the field of infrastructure of Krasnodar Region.

The importance of infrastructure development in Sochi, Krasnodar and other cities of Krasnodar Region for the Olympics 2014 is supported by the Government of the Russian Federation. IDES Forum will be run under the official support of state bodies of the RF, in particular, Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Energy and Federal Agency for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision. It is hard to overestimate the opportunity of mutually beneficial cooperation granted to Russian and Krasnodar companies by IDES Forum. Support of national projects by the state represents extremely wide opportunities for organizations ready to make their contributions in the development of Olympic infrastructure, a pledge of stability and excellent prospects for productive work in the future.
